CityU “Bachelor of Arts in Design Graduation Exhibition 2026” opens

The 2026 Graduation Exhibition of the Bachelor of Arts in Design Graduation program, offered by the Faculty of Innovation and Design (FIAD) at City University of Macau (CityU), opened today at the Exhibition Hall, Cultural Centre on Taipa Campus.

Themed “Creative Boundary”, the exhibition brings together nearly 50 design works by graduating students from three specialized streams: Environmental Design, Urban and Landscape Design, and Industrial Design, showcasing the four years of learning outcomes and creative practice of the students.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Lei Im Kei, acting head of the Department of Students of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Van Pou Lon, Head of the Division of Visual Art of the Cultural Affairs Bureau; Hong Pui Leng, acting head of Advertising and Production Division of the Macao Government Tourism Office; Wicky So, Pro-Rector of CityU; and Wang Po Hsun, executive associate dean of the Faculty of Innovation and Design. Also in attendance were Chio Keong, Taihe Scholar named by the Forbidden Palace; Li Chao, senior design expert from Alibaba and Mpay group; Xing Yalong, program coordinator of the Bachelor of Arts in Design at the FIAD; as well as faculty and student representatives from the Faculty.

Pro-Rector Wicky So stated that this graduation design exhibition provides students with an important platform to collectively showcase their learning outcomes and creative practice, mentioning through the process of planning, curating and presenting the graduation exhibition, students have not only strengthened their professional understanding but also accumulated valuable hands-on experience. This can help them gradually grow into young design talents equipped with innovative thinking and design execution capabilities, said Pro-Rector So.

He pointed out that the Faculty of Innovation and Design is driven by innovation as its fundamental engine and adheres to the educational philosophy of “serving society through academia”, striving to cultivate design professionals who possess strong disciplinary knowledge, practical abilities and a sense of social responsibility.

He pointed out that in response to the demands of a new technological transformation and urban transition, students are actively breaking down disciplinary boundaries and applying sustainable design thinking to address contemporary issues, injecting innovative energy into the future of cities and society. He expressed his hope that CityU students will continue to produce more artistic and design works with interdisciplinary perspectives, put forward-looking and creative solutions, engage in design practices that support sustainable development, and fully demonstrate their creativity, innovative spirit, and professional strengths on broader social stages.
