Congratulations! CityU student wins the 2026 iF DESIGN AWARD

Chen Zilong, a doctoral student of Faculty of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau (CityU), and his team won the 2026 iF DESIGN AWARD for their work “Huashan Day”. This demonstrated the outstanding innovation design capabilities and profound cultural and literacy of CityU students. The result was announced recently.

Chen’s work “Huashan Day” explored the cultural connotations of the Huashan rock painting in Chongzuo city, Guangxi province. By combining the ancient rock art elements with modern design language, he created a design that is both culturally rich and practically valuable, revitalizing traditional culture in contemporary society. This award reflects CityU’s long-term commitment to innovation education, and its commitment to encourage the integration of academic research with design practice.
