Vice-Rector Professor Kong Fanqing Visited the School of Sociology and Anthropology of Sun Yat-Sen University

With the purpose of accelerating the cooperation between the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the City University of Macau and other renowned faculties in the related academic spheres, the Vice Rector Prof. Kong Fanqing, visited School of Sociology and Anthropology of the Sun Yat-Sen University with the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Wang Zhong. They received the warm hospitality from the Dean of the school of Sociology and Anthropology, Prof. Zhang Yingqiang, the associate professor of the Anthropology department, Prof. Zhu Tiequan, and the associate professor of the social work department, Prof. Lei Jie. Both parties conducted an in-depth discussion regarding the academic cooperation in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences and signed a cooperation agreement.

The Sun Yat-Sen University is not only one of the contributors to the Project 985 and 211 of China but also a locally and internationally renowned and modern educational institution with a time-honored reputation. The Sun Yat-Sen University has a long-established academic foundation in both social sciences and humanity spheres, so it is considered as a valuable asset for scientific research and cultivation of talents.

During the visit, both parties agreed the cooperation should be enhanced in the exchange of academic information, academic visit, scientific research and supervision of post-graduate students after considering the professions, specialties and the development objectives of both faculties. Both parties detailed discussed the Sociology and Anthropology aspects of cultural heritages, innovative development, and social work curriculum and sociology curriculum development. After that, both parties agreed to establish a cultural heritage and innovative development research institution mutually. The social work and sociology program of Sun Yat-Sen University would utilize its experiences and its well-developed academic reputation to cooperate with the City University of Macau in the communication and cooperation among the faculty members of the department of social work and sociology, project development and the internship program of students in the future.
