Registrar Sean Li and Delegation Visited TWAEA and a Number of Tertiary Institutions in Taiwan

Registrar Sean Li and his delegation recently travelled to Taiwan for exchange and inspection. Visiting Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA), Jinwen University of Science and Technology, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, National Kaohsiung Normal University and Far East University, they shared and exchanged opinions on faculty evaluation as well as exploring the opportunities for future cooperation.

Registrar Li and his delegation paid a visit to Secretary General of TWAEA Wu Shu Yuan and discussed the process of current faculty evaluation and follow-up arrangements. In addition, the delegation was also warmly received by President Horng Jeou Shyan from Jinwen University of Science and Technology, President of National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology C. Y. Chen, President of National Kaohsiung Normal University Wu Lien Shang and President of Far East University Wang Yen Zen. The delegation is impressed by the smart energy systems in the campus of Jinwen University of Science and Technology, the trio “innovation, creativity and start-up” at National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, the outstanding combination of teaching and application at National Kaohsiung Normal University as well as the close bond of the teachers and students at Far East University. During the visits to the universities, Registrar Li introduced the status quo of CityU and its unique operation. Stressing the mixture of Eastern and Western culture as well as the academic excellence in humanities, art, business and social science, our university nurtures practical talents in Macau and the region, strives to establish as an exceptional metropolitan university in the area and hopes to reinforce collaboration with the aforementioned universities.

With the invitation of TWAEA, Registrar Li and the delegation dropped by Far East University to study their faculty’s evaluation process such as the preparation meeting of the Evaluation Committee, Committee members’ field trip and information check. They also visited the campus and conducted a meeting with the rector, lecturers, administrators and students, after which the delegation had a more in-depth understanding of the evaluation.

During the trip, Registrar Li represented Rector Zhang to sign an agreement of cooperation with National Kaohsiung Normal University. The universities will enhance their collaboration in student exchange, academic research and other areas.
