Recently, the sharing session of the voluntary teaching and alleviating poverty activity namely“One Heart, Dedicate Our Love” was held in the Ho Yin Convention Centre of the University by our school volunteer team. Vice Rector Kong Fanqing, Head of the Student Affairs Office Zhou Pin Zhou, our school volunteer team leader Lewis Chou, and all the volunteer team members who participated in the activity were involved in the event. Before the start of the event, a video was being played, revisiting the times our volunteer team members spent in Hunan. Looking back to the days of voluntary teaching and photos of the local primary school children touches the participants. Subsequently, our team leader Lewis invited the participants, our school student representatives and our student president of the volunteer society to share on stage. Participants in the activities have made slides and video elaborately to share their teachings experience with our Vice Rector, Head of the Student Affairs Office and all involved in the sharing session. Many of them also shared the home visiting and interesting things to get along with the children, as well as the affection within. Some students denoted that “Doing Kind Deeds without asking for return. Thanks to the platform provided by our school, thus let us engage in the opportunity to take a deeper glimpse of our society, and strive for our best in social service. Although some may consider our contribution insignificant, but Giving is more influential than Taking. We believe that Dedicating our love to those in need will provide them with strength. And for us, maturity is regarded as Wealth of the heart.” After the wonderful sharing of our students, team leader Lewis summarized the activity. Ms. Zhou, our Head of the Student Affairs Office also shared with us her passion in voluntary teaching. Last but not least, our Vice Rector, Professor Kong expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in this activity, for acquiring such mettle to alleviate poverty. This society needs young force to develop public welfare. She believes that our volunteer team is moving in the best direction, under the efforts of everyone will be promising. |
