City University of Macau and Hengqin New Area Financial Service Bureau Cohosted the Finance Forum of Hengqin Free Trade Zone – New Opportunities and New Challenges, 2016 Finance Big Data and Hedge Fund Forum for Hengqin

Cohosted by City University of Macau and Hengqin New Area Financial Service Bureau, organised by Hengqin New Area Financial Service Centre and Hengqin New Area Finance Industry Society and jointly organised by VAO International Education Center, New Opportunities and New Challenges, 2016 Finance Big Data and Hedge Fund Forum for Hengqin was successfully held Hengqin Chimelong International Convention Centre on 29 April. The attendants include Rector Shu Guang Zhang, Registrar Li Shu Ying, Secretary General of Council Robert Chan, Executive Associate Dean of Open Institute Gavin Chau, Director of Zhuhai Finance Working Bureau Dong Hong Shan, Deputy Director of Hengqin New Area Financial Service Bureau Chi Teng Hui, Deputy Secretary of Zhuhai Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Chun Jian, Director of VAO International Education Center Hung Wan Hua, Partner of Abama Asset Management Li Xiao Liang, General Manager of Department of Asset Management of GF Futures Xie Zhen Lian and 300 experts, elites and business representatives of the finance industry from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.

The forum aims to advocate the innovation of Hengqin’s finance industry by examining the opportunities and challenges of big data for finance and innovation and elaborating on the “Mode of Development for Hedge Fund in Hengqin in the Era of Free Trade”. In Rector Zhang’s speech, he claimed that the finance industry has been surging in China and the combination of finance big data and finance innovation has been developing greatly, which has in turn enhance the traditional finance industry. Rector Zhang strongly believed that as one of the three Pilot Free Trade Zones in China (Guangdong), Hengqin New Area has a great potential for development in terms of finance innovation.

Director of Innovative Research and Development of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Lei Zhi Bin, Director of Internet Finance Research and Development of Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Yan Zhi Hong. The two professors gave a seminar on “Finance Big Data and Finance Quantitative Cloud" and "Quantitative Hedge Fund, Artificial Intelligence and Future Investment Management” respectively.

The Forum has invited experts and leaders of the industry from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau to conduct a discussion, which is extremely meaningful for Hengqin as the base for hedge fund industry.
