Teachers and Students Taking Part in 34th Walk for a Million

Rector Shu Guang Zhang and over 140 teachers and students took part in Walk for a Million organized by the Charity Fund from The Readers of Macao Daily News on 10 December. The team, carrying the school flag, joined different sectors of Macau in serving public goods.

At 10 o’clock that morning, the starting ceremony of the Walk for a Million was held on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, near the Statue of Guan Yin. The Walk, which was three kilometres in length, started from the Macao Science Center, took a route to Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen and Rua De S. Tiago Da Barra, and ended at Largo do Pagode da Barra. Along the route, different organizations and institutions presented wonderful performances to showcase Macau’s cultural traditions and characteristics, giving the event a special touch.

Teachers and students of the University found the support of different sectors towards charitable activities and their participation respectful and impressive. The participants’ behaviour would inspire other Macau citizens, including our teachers and students, to care about society and join charitable activities.

The University has always placed emphasis on social responsibility and actively participate in social services. It passes on this valuable tradition by practicing it.
