In 2015, thanks to the permission of Macao SAR Government, CityU moved back to the original site of University of East Asia, which shows the inheritance by CityU of the "Love for China and Macao" and the higher education context in Macao. CityU will actively implement the talent training for "Love for China and Macao" and scientific and technological innovation to serve the diversified construction in Macao and the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

CityU has always adhered to "Love for China and Macao" as the core values of education and has carried it into teaching and scientific research practice. After years of hard work, CityU has taken the lead in launching the only research institutions and curriculum structure with many characteristics in the local Macao area, playing a unique "CityU Role". CityU has taken the lead in launching the "China's Diplomacy Lecture", inviting famous diplomats and scholars to host lectures and exchanges, and continued to increase the investment in the "Love for China and Macao" education. CityU has become the only university in Macao that has received certificate from the UNWTO TedQual for its bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs in tourism management. CityU has taken the lead in setting up the only Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries in the city and launching the master’s and doctoral degree programs on "Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries". CityU has taken the lead in setting up the only Institute of Data Science, the Faculty of Innovation and Design, as well as the Faculty of Finance with the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree structure to improve the discipline system building. CityU has set up the Department of Innovative Social Work and constructed the only curriculum structure focusing on "elderly health" and "elderly intelligent health" in Macao.

CityU has taken scientific and technological innovation as an important starting point, insisted on the application of Internet intelligent technology in the development of humanities and social sciences, paid attention to the research in such fields as the intelligent city, intelligent leisure, intelligent tourism and waterfront city planning, and formed a unique "CityU Style" and "CityU Research". At present, CityU has created a metropolitan university in geographical and cultural sense, encompassing Taipa Campus, Royal Centre and Golden Dragon Centre, and is actively constructing different types of research platforms with the Chinese mainland to serve the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. For the sake of Macao and for the sake of China, CityU will cultivate comprehensive talents with a practical approach and continue to play the role of CityU.

Faculty representative and student representative also expressed their learning experience at the meeting. They delivered gratitude to the Central Government and the Macao SAR Government for their care and support for higher education in Macao. CityU has always insisted on "student-oriented" and "learning-centered" to create a good campus environment and a strong academic atmosphere for teachers and students and to build a wider learning platform for students based on the "five in one" learning model.
