The "2017-2018 Macau University Fencing Championship" organized by the Macau Universitarian Sports' Association and co-organized by the Macao Fencing Association was held from April 14 to 15. There were six individual events in this competition, namely, men's and women's foil, epee and saber. Team CityU athletes won 2 gold and 2 silver medals in this event.

In the women's saber fencing match, CityU's athletes Chau Ka Man and On Hao fought all the way through, and made it to the finals as first place and second place in their group, respectively. Finally, Chau Ka Man won the gold, and On Hao won the silver.

In the men's saber fencing match, CityU's athletes Lao Long Fei played well in the group games, and advanced to the knockout competition as first place. After fierce battles, he beat his rival by 15-9 in the final and won another gold medal for CityU.

Lao In I, a female epee fencer representing CityU, who had a big leg surgery in her early years, finally reached the final as a seasoned fencer. Although she lost by one point to her rival, she tenaciously stuck to the last strike and received thunderous applause from the audience.

With the joint efforts of CityU, coaches and team members, CityU's fencing team will grow stronger and stronger and attain more brilliant achievements.
