City University of Macau and Fujian Normal University Signed Agreement of Strategic Cooperation Framework and Letter of Intent on Cooperative Education

Professor Yan Zexian, Rector of City University of Macau and Professor Huang Hansheng, President of Fujian Normal University signed the Agreement of Strategic Cooperation Framework and the Letter of Intent on Cooperative Education on 18^th May, 2013. Bearing witness to this meaningful occasion were heads of the two Universities, incluing Mr. Chan Meng Kam, Chairman of the Council of City U, Mr. Qiu Xiaohua, Secretary-General of the Foundation of City U, Prof. Xing Wenxiang, Vice-Rector of City U, Mr. Zhang Chengyuan, the representative of the Fujian Provincial Government and Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Mr. Luo Ying, Secretary of the Party Committee of Fujian Normal University and Prof. Xu Ming, Vice-President of Fujian Normal University.

The Signing Ceremony was simple yet solemn. As a response to the development of strategic partnership between Macau and Fujian, the cooperation between City University of Macau and Fujian Normal University will establish a new model for educational structure and further increase exchanges and collaborations in the higher education sector of both regions. Based on the principle of “complementing each other and sharing resources, mutually benefiting and progress together”, the work on cooperative education will be utilizing the two universities’ respective advantages in different disciplines, fields of talents and resources. Introducing quality educational resources and management model from overseas, this cooperation will not only promote educational partnership, but also increase cultural exchanges between the two regions, helping to cultivate highly qualified talents in various areas for Fujian and for China.
