CityU Signed MOU with Keiser University, the United States

City University of Macau and Keiser University (KU) have put pen to paper on a Memorandum of Understanding to promote and facilitate cooperation.

On 27th October 2015, the delegation of KU, including Chancellor of KU Professor Arthur Keiser, Vice Chancellor of International Affairs of KU Mr. Zhanjun Yang and Regional Program Director of KU Ms. Wendy Wong, paid a visit to CityU. The delegation was warmly received by Rector of CityU Professor Shu Guang Zhang, Secretary General of the Council of CityU Mr. Robert Chan and Executive Associate Dean of the Open Institute of CityU Dr. Gavin Chau.

Both parties conducted cordially discussion. During the meeting, Rector Zhang addressed the important role of Macau as a bridge for economic and trade cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, and expressed a strong intention to develop trilingual business training programmes which aim to equip students with business knowledge and skills, as well as cultivate students’ trilingual proficiency in Chinese, Portuguese and English. Meanwhile, Rector Zhang added that the partnership with KU would greatly contribute to the development of such international programmes. In addition, Professor Keiser remarked on the importance of international partnerships with other institutions, and that the geographic location and historical background of Macau makes it a desired region for such partnership.

Besides, CityU also signed a MOU with KU during the meeting. The MOU will promote the development of professional training partnerships across a broad range of disciplines including business, management, language, IT, accounting, etc.

The signing of the MOU will see both universities work together to provide quality programmes and training opportunities for students and working adults primarily from Macau, Mainland China, and the Hengqin Free Trade Zone in particular, and to facilitate student and faculty exchange opportunities.

With campuses located throughout the state of Florida and internationally, KU is a regionally accredited, private, career university that provides educational programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels in traditional, non-traditional, and online delivery formats. Sharing similar missions and visions, CityU is ready to develop closer cooperation with KU to provide more opportunities for the talents we nurture.
