Rector Liu values Students’ Voices, cares Students’ Campus Life

Prof. Liu Jun, Rector of City University Macau (CityU Macau), values students’ voices and cares about their campus life. To conduct timely communication with students, the official website of CityU Macau launches interactive functions, namely “Rector’s Corners” and “Meet the University Leaders”, to allow all CityUers to express their ideas towards University’s policies through booking appointments to talk with the University leaders.

Last Thursday (28), Rector Liu cordially met with the City University of Macau Students’ Association representatives. During the meeting, Rector Liu expressed his genuine care towards student concerns and keened to know about their feelings about campus facilities, such as canteen and study space.

Rector Liu patiently listened to students’ opinions and answered their questions. He encouraged the Students' Association to provide more opportunities for their peers to obtain hands-on experience in organising student activities. As the bridge between the University and fellow students, Rector Liu suggested the Students' Assoication shoulder its responsibility to listen to peers’ voices and carry out concrete actions to give a hand to students in need.

After the meeting, Students’ Association representatives accompanied Rector Liu to the Student Corner at Taipa campus to learn more about students’ activities on recruiting new club members. Impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the recruitment activity of new members was postponed to 27 to 29 November this year. The three-day activity attracted over 20 student clubs to set booths on-site. Rector Liu hoped that students could engage and take part in club activities, develop their strengths and unique characters, and take action to realise self-improvement.
