Faculty of Finance: Collaborative Industry-Academia Teaching Model helps you become Sought-after Talent
The Faculty of Finance (FOF) places emphasis on cultivating students’ solid theoretical foundation, financial cognitive ability, and market analysis ability. FOF has built strategic partnerships with renowned higher education institutions and the financial sectors at home and abroad, aiming to provide students with excellent practical training and career advice. As the first financial school established in the city and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, FOF built a team with teaching members drawn from renowned universities at home and abroad and have extensive teaching and industry experience.
In line with industry and market demand to develop programmes
- FOF has obtained the Silver status validated by the Business Graduates Association.
- FOF offers three degree programmes, namely, Bachelor of Applied Economics, Master of Science in Finance, and Doctor of Philosophy in Finance. The programmes carry distinctive features, focus on developing frontier topics in finance, such as fintech, finance leasing and green finance.
- The Finance Elite Cohort Programme is part of the Bachelor of Applied Economics programme conducted in English. It focuses on developing students’ cross-cultural communication skills, international vision, an understanding of the differences between different financial systems, and a general picture of the underlying system of the financial business environment and cultural diversity. As such, they will be able to adapt themselves to different kinds of financial institutions and business environments and develop their careers efficiently in multinational financial institutions.[foogallery id="44604"]
Adopting a collaborative industry-academia teaching model to nurture talent
- FOF adopts a collaborative industry-academia teaching model to nurture talents as its education features. It has built multi-faceted cooperation with the financial businesses in the local community and the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, allowing students to learn and consolidate knowledge through hands-on experience to cultivate modern financial talents.
- FOF also works with Hengqin International Finance Research Institute and Hengqin-Macau Youth Entrepreneurship Valley to establish a learning hub and two-way exchanges to promote the enterprise-academia-research cooperation between the two regions. In addition, students and teaching members are encouraged to conduct collaborative projects and academic research and participate in various exchange activities between the two places, including workshops, research and development, teaching and learning, field visits and cultivation of financial talent.
- FOF also forms close partnership with renowned universities in mainland and overseas to launch summer internship programmes for students in financial businesses.
- FOF will invites well-known financial practitioners to share cutting-edge information in a bid to enhance student’s professionalism.
