A group of FED graduate students led by Dr. S.Y Lee, Assistant Dean of FED, recently attended a lecture on Education Reform Experiences of Taiwan and its Inspiration for Macau. The lecture was co-organized by Macau Chinese Education Society and Macau Higher Education Professionals Communication Association. Prof. Chuing Chou, a famous scholar from Taiwan discussed the future development trend of Macau Education System with Macanese educators. Since the Return of Macau to China, the Macau SAR Government had kept making effort on the completion of education system and the development of education on all levels. Facing the rapidly rising social command for education quality, the whole society should reflect the further improvement of education system construction. Prof. Chou, lectured on World University Rankings, optimal University scale, Higher Education reform and the institutions benefited from the Top 100 World University Rankings, the complexity of comparison between Universities, the share of GDP allocated to higher education, and the employment market. The FED teacher and students broadened the academic horizons from the lecture and deepened their understanding of the status of Macau education through discussion and exchange with Prof. Chou and other participants. Prof. Chuing Chou, Professor of Taiwan National Cheng-Chi University, is a member of the policy advisory committee Ministry of Education, Secretary and Chairperson of Taiwan Education Reform Forum, Board Member of Journal of Education Research (Taiwan) , Comparative Education Journal (Taiwan), Journal of Research in Education Sciences, Comparative Education Review, Higher Education, Asia Pacific Education Review, and Curriculum Inquiry. |
