The City University of Macau (CityU) and the video channel of the Pui Ching Middle School (Macau) – Puiching TV will launch ten episodes of the Memory of the World and Macau programme to introduce local historical heritage and cultural archives listed in the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme.
With the support of the UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, CityU and the Macau Society for Documentation and Information have established the first “Memory of the World Knowledge Centre – Macau” worldwide with the objectives of promoting education and studies on historical heritage, the preservation and use of documentary resources in Macao, as well as to strengthen exchanges between the local and international communities.
The “Memory of the World Knowledge Centre – Macau” aims to serve as an exchange and cooperation platform for academic activities, archival research and education, as well as a bridge between the exchanges of the local and neighbouring regions and UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme.
Since its establishment, the Centre has engaged in a wide range of academic and promotional activities, such as international seminars, promotion and conservation of documents from around the world, showcasing the latest developments in archiving technology, and increasing international exchanges.
