Twenty-nine design works created by students from the Faculty of Innovation and Design (FIAD) of the City University of Macau (CityU) are being showcased at the Wuxi x Macao Design Week until March 27. The five-day event started today at Xuelang Town in the Economic Development Zone of Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province.
The event is organized by the Management Committee of Wuxi Economic Development Zone (Wuxi EDZ) and the Chinese Cultural Industries Promotion Association. It is hosted by the Golden Bay Technology and Entrepreneurship Park of the Wuxi EDZ. The design week aims to build a platform for cultural industries in Wuxi, Macao and overseas to exchange ideas and present their art designs. The design week will stimulate the huge potential of design in serving national strategies, promoting high-quality economic development and improving people’s lives through the intensive integration of “design + culture + technology.”
CityU selected 29 design works this year. Six of them are from the Environmental Design Specialization and 23 pieces are from the Industrial Design Specialization. This year’s edition covers a wide range of designs from different specializations. Among them, there are projects on traditional architecture revitalizations, jewelry designs inspired by traditional culture, and interactive works that focus on the mental health of young people.
