A delegation led by Prof. Li Xiaofeng, Vice President of Soochow University, visited City University of Macau (CityU) today (March 28th) and was warmly received by Rector Jun Liu. The delegation was given a campus tour of the environment and teaching facilities, and attended CityU's 42nd anniversary celebrations. The two sides held a discussion on deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. Other members of CityU, including Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei and Vice Rector Chee Seong Chin, also took part in the meeting.
The two universities have a long history of scientific research collaboration. In 2020, CityU, Soochow University, and University of Évora established the Sino-Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation. Building on this existing collaboration, the universities will deepen their cooperation and facilitate high-level research studies and resource sharing. Additionally, the universities will utilize the Global Consortium of Metropolitan Universities, initiated by CityU last year, as a platform to enhance student exchanges and broaden students' international perspectives.
