Research article on sustainable development in old city areas by CityU’s faculty and students published in Q1 journal

With the onset of the stock planning era, urban renewal has become an integral part of the development and construction of Macao’s urban historical areas. Urban renewal is a process of rational space redistribution that aims to revitalize and rejuvenate urban areas. Recently, academic members and students at the Faculty of Innovation and Design of the City University of Macau (CityU) leveraged the Sino-Portugal Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation (Belt and Road Joint Laboratory) to publish a research article entitled “Evaluation on Site Selection of Urban Renewal Projects from the Perspective of Space Benefit: Macao Special Administrative Region as an Example” in the international SCIE Q1 journal, Journal of Mathematics. The research paper aims to contribute to urban renewal in Macao and explore ways to promote the sustainable development of historic urban areas. The first author of the research article was Chen Zehui, a postgraduate student enrolled in the Master of Urban Planning and Design program. Xing Yalong, Assistant Professor and Postgraduate Program Coordinator of Urban Planning and Design was the second author. The corresponding author was Assistant Professor Huang Guang. Li Jingxian, a master's student in Urban Planning and Design, was the fourth author.
