CityU hosts 2023 International Day Against Drug Abuse Launching Ceremony

The Launching Ceremony of the 2023 International Day Against Drug Abuse was hosted today at the Cultural Centre, co-organized by the Macao SAR Government Social Welfare Bureau, the Bosco Youth Service Network - Freeland, and the City University of Macau. The event included a thematic talk entitled “The Future of Professional Development in Addiction Services,” a certificate presentation ceremony for 23 accredited addiction counselors who completed the training program, and an exhibition of work achievements brought by drug prevention, intervention, treatment, and aftercare services. In his address, Rector Jun Liu expressed his hope that the event would raise awareness of drug-related issues and help the public gain a better understanding of the importance and challenges of anti-drug work. He also expressed his wish that the event would contribute to the professional development of anti-drug counseling and related services. Over 200 participants attended the event both in-person and online, including local officials, representatives of social services and organizations, as well as students, faculty members, and management of CityU.
