Since the school became the “Test of English for International Communication” center in December of last year, the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) cooperates closely with exemplary secondary schools and institutions to actively promote the internationalization of the professional English of Macau. The first public test was held at the SCS of CityU on February 26, 2012 with nearly 200 participants. According to the information provided by the organizer of TOEIC, this is the most well-attended TOEIC in Macau. It shows that students and community members attach great importance to the standard of professional English in the increasing internationalization of the work environment in Macau.
TOEIC is designed for non-native English speakers and the test score reflects the proficiency in communicating in English. Since the test is everyday use of English-based, participants does not require specialized knowledge or vocabulary.
