Introduction to the Division of Research and Development

1. Current Situation and Prospects
       Division of Research and Development is responsible for planning, managing and serving scientific researches of the university. Specifically, it focuses on planning, promoting and integrating academic research with development, to strengthen the collaboration between teaching and research, and to improve the cooperation among teaching, research and learning. Moreover, with various on and off campus resources, it helps to improve the quality of academic research, develop academic exchange, and encourage research result transference, for the purpose of building up the achievements of the university.

2. Functions and Scope of Works
         The major functions and scope of works of the Division of Research and Development are:

1. To design and implement research schemes, and to integrate teaching with research to achieve mutual benefits;
2. To design and implement rules and regulations for research works in the university;
3. To strength the management of scientific research, and enhance the management standard;
4. To promote research and development (R&D) results, works and patents, as well as organizing events and producing relevant publicity regarding research results;
5. To serve other research institutions of the university;
6. To manage the Journal of City University of Macau.
