With the university’s mission being “Rooted in Macau, Serving the Region and Facing the World”, CityU has been enhancing international connection and collaborating with students, lecturers and academia in a number of universities from around the globe. In Summer 2016, CityU organised students to attend language and cultural courses in University of New Mexico in the United States and Vancouver Island University in Canada. This year, our students visited University of Minho in Portugal for Portuguese language and culture courses, Royal Roads University and University of Alberta in Canada, as well as University of New Mexico in the United States for relevant short courses. Meanwhile, the exchange courses and internship programmes in luxury hotels in France, Austria and the United States will continue. Students are enthusiastic about taking part in international exchange programmes. These opportunities for exchange and experiential learning can broaden students’ global vision and enhance their international competiveness. CityU is planning to develop more exchange courses with established universities, such as joint summer courses organised by Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom and exchange programmes in European countries and South East Asia to improve students’ language abilities and prompt their adaptiveness to international social development.
