Sands China held an Introduction of Sands China Academy & Sharing Session on the Local Talent Development Program yesterday, reviewing Sands China’s effort in cultivating local professionals in the past ten year and looking forward to the future. Mr. Sheldon Adelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Sands China, jointly officiated the ceremony with representatives from Macau education circles including Mr. Liu Z.Y, Chief Research Officer of Macau Research Center, University of Macau, Vice Rector Zhen M.J of Macau University of Science and Technology, Mr. Yan Z.J from Macau Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Li J.D, Provost of University of Saint Joseph, Prof. Aliana Leong, Vice Rector of City University of Macau, Mr. Yang J.W, President of CPTTM, and Mr. Li K.J, Provost of Macau Institute of Management. Mr. Gao S.D, Assistant Minister of Economic Affairs LOCPG Macau, Mr. Liu W.M, Deputy Director General of DSAL, Mr. Chen Y.T, Deputy Director of HR office, Mr. Luo D.N, Acting Director of Training and QA Department, Macau Government Tourist Office, Ms. Huang J.W, representative of DSEJ, and Ms. Wu L.Y, Secretary General Representative of Talent Development Committee. In his speech, Mr. Adelson said that Sands China always supported local talent development ever since its establishment and cultivating local professionals is a key element for the development of Macau as a future world tourism and leisure center. The training programs introduced by Sands China had benefited tens of thousands of Macau citizens and more diversified programs will be carried out by the company as its promised return to Macau. Sands China remains committed to launching diversified internal training programs and development projects to cultivate team members and professionals of different industries. The cooperation among Sands China and local and international educational institutions promotes local professionals at world level. The objective of the Local Talent Development Program is to create career visions for future leaders of Sands China and Macau and to contribute to the development of Macau as a future world tourism and leisure center. Sands China provides numerous opportunities of upward promotion and horizontal development for its staff ever since the opening of the company. Some 15,000 employees of Sands China have been promoted, of which nearly 13,000 are local employees. Over 1,500 local employees have been promoted in horizontal development. |
