“Multicultural Learning Expands International Perspective”CityU Elite Students of International Business Cohort Successfully Complete the Summer Exchange Course

Recently, elite students of the International Business Cohort of CityU have successfully completed the summer course of University of British Columbia and National University of Singapore.

Leading by Prof. Priscilla Roberts, the coordinator of International Business Cohort Programme, 22 students from the first-year of International Business Cohort, Faculty of Business and Faculty of International Tourism and Management have been to the University of British Columbia and participated in the one-month summer course of Environmental Economics and Geographies of the Global Economy. Both courses are offered by Vancouver School of Economics and Department of Geography, both of which are among the top 20 university departments around the world. Apart from lecturing, University of British Columbia has also organized students to visit campus, local Vancouver companies and scenic spots.

Four sophomore students of International Business Cohort have participated in the Southeast Asian Economic History summer course of National University of Singapore. This course is hosted by the Department of Economics of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, which ranks 16th around the world. During their study in Singapore, students have formed a deep understanding of Singapore’s development and experienced the local multi-cultural atmosphere through lectures, cooperation, exchange, cultural exchanges and many other ways.

Students have gained a lot from these summer overseas exchange courses: They have had the opportunity to conduct the academic communications with the teachers and students of the world’s top universities; they have improved their academic knowledge, English ability and the adaption of the multicultural society.
