Students from the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau (CityU Macau) won the third prize in the Network track category at the Macao final of the Huawei ICT Competition.
The Huawei ICT (information and communication technology) Competition includes Macao Preliminary, Macao Final, Region Final, and Global Final. It is an exchanges platform for university students to explore ICT development. It aims to promote the healthy development of the ICT ecosystem and support the integration of industry and education.
The Macao Preliminary drew 475 from five local tertiary education institutions to take part. The Macao finals saw 72 contestants in the Cloud track and Network track.
The Cloud track examined students’ skills in Information Technology (IT) technologies, namely cloud services and storage, big data, and artificial intelligence. The Network track challenged students’ skills in Internet Protocol (IP) technologies, such as data communications, security, and wireless local area network (WLAN).
Under the support of Assistant Professor Ying Zuobin, CityU Macau students: Ma Chenxiao; Jin Yuxin, Liu Yunzhi, won third prize in the Network track category. Assistant Professor Ying won an outstanding mentor award in recognition of his guidance to the team.
The Huawei ICT Competition – Macao SAR 2021-2022 is organised by Huawei Technologies Co Ltd., the Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau, and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center.
