The 4th National MOOC Education Innovation Conference and the 2023 Joint Annual Meeting of the Universities Online Open Course Alliance was held in Guangzhou, where 333 MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) elected by 26 MOOC alliances across the country were announced. Among them, the “Teaching Design and Approach: Guangdong-Macao Cross-Universities Teaching Application” led by Assistant Professor Peng Jun of School of Education at City University of Macau was on the list.

The MOOC “Teaching Design and Approach: Guangdong-Macao Cross-Universities Teaching Application” was based on the compulsory course “Curriculum Design and Implementation” in the Master of Education program at City University of Macau. The research team consisted of members from multiple universities in Macao, Zhuhai, and Guangzhou, who developed an innovative teaching application that combined online and on-campus teaching methods with both theory and practice. The MOOC proposed that curriculum reform should be oriented towards observable and assessable expected outcomes to facilitate students’ learning goals and achievements.
This conference was guided by the Steering Committee for the Innovation of Teaching Informatization and Teaching of the Ministry of Education, with the Alliance of Online Open Courses for Universities as the host, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Universities Online Open Course Alliance and Jinan University as the co-organizers. It attracted around 600 representatives from 27 MOOC alliance members, universities, and enterprises across the country to attend the conference in person. The ceremony for the classic MOOC of the decade award was held during the conference.
