City University of Macau (CityU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Hengqin International Intellectual Property Trading Center to establish a joint laboratory for intellectual property transfer and transformation. The inauguration ceremony took place concurrently, featuring notable officials from Guangdong Intellectual Property Administration, Commercial Services Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and Zhuhai Intellectual Property Administration.
The joint laboratory will offer a comprehensive range of services, including IP assessment and analysis, patent application and management, as well as technology transfer and commercialization support. This collaboration is expected to enhance the commercialization of academic research, providing students with valuable practical opportunities and broader employment prospects.

As a member, CityU also participated in the inauguration ceremony of the cross-regional patent transformation cooperation alliance in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The alliance aims to enhance IP resource sharing between Greater Bay Area cities and mainland cities, accelerating the transformation and commercialization of technological achievements while fostering coordinated economic and technological development and the industrialization of innovations.
The ceremony also included the signing of an agreement between the Hengqin International Intellectual Property Trading Center and the Macao Digital Culture and Technology Association, leading to the establishment and inauguration of a research and training center for new quality productive forces between Guangdong and Macao.
