We’re grateful to have you with us in the COVID battle! CityU to resume regular operations starting from 2 August
Dear Colleagues and Students,
In late June, a sudden wave of COVID-19 pandemic hit Macao, and a battle against the novel coronavirus was waged across the city. We raced with time to curb the spread of the virus, and we fought side by side at this challenging moment.
My dear colleagues, we are grateful for your professionalism and commitment to your work. You have given us the confidence to forge ahead in this critical time. Under the collaboration of all faculties and departments, we have compiled the SAR Government’s preventive measures and maintained regular campus operations. Many of you have assisted in the mass nucleic acid testing programmes at various stations in Macao. You have taken care of the physical and mental well-being of our students, faculty and Macao residents by launching the “Workout at Home” short video, proposing the “Mental Healthcare Kit”, and providing psychological consultation via free hotline services. All of these novel initiatives demonstrated the positive and healthy spirit and commitment of CityU staff.
My dear students, we care about your health during the pandemic. We are impressed by your prompt actions in supporting Macao and the University’s anti-epidemic work. Many of you volunteered at the city-wide nucleic acid testing programmes in Macao, demonstrating the philosophy of “love and the responsibility” as a CityUer. Meanwhile, many of you outside Macao have sent photos and videos to support Macao people in combatting the COVID-19 outbreak, injecting CityUers’ positive energy into the community.
In combatting the pandemic, we stand together with the community and all residents of Macao to build a fortress against the virus. On behalf of the City University of Macau, I would like to thank all of you who have complied with the anti-epidemic measures and prevention works. Thank you, CityUer! For working with the University to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and support us in maintaining regular operations. We hope you will continue working with us to prepare for a safe and energetic academic year!
Currently, we are still at the critical stage of the anti-epidemic and control situation. Let us remain cautious about keeping our hygiene. With all of us fighting side by side, we believe that COVID-19 virus will be defeated. Let us protect Macao and bring peace and a lively atmosphere to the community.
All the best,
Jun Liu
