City University of Macau Leading in the Su-Ao cooperation” To build the first Sino-Portuguese law school in Mainland

On January 18, “The ceremony of the opening of Sino-Português Law School Cum "Belt and Road" Legal Service Seminar on Legal Protection held in Changzhou University. Our Pro-Rector, Mr. Ip Kuai Peng, and Mr. Robert Chan, our Secretary General of the Council, signed the "Memorandum on Co-sponsoring the Establishment of Sino-Portuguese Law School" on behalf of City University of Macau and unveiled the Sino-Português Law School together as a representative of the co-construction unit. The “Sino-Português Law School” is jointly established by Changzhou University, City University of Macau, Changzhou Administration Institute, Changzhou " Belt and Road " Strategy Institute and Macau’s "Belt and Road" Institute of Legal Studies. It is the first educational and research institute focusing on research on Portuguese-speaking countries and regional law, aiming to promote legal and cultural exchanges between China and Portugal, training of qualified personnel with knowledge of Sino-law and Portuguese-speaking countries and regional laws; devoting itself to becoming the important platform of training and educational, research, cultural communication and cooperation between the Sino-Português parties. In our Pro Rector, Mr. Ip Kuai Peng’s speech at the seminar, he believed that participating in the establishment of the “Sino-Português Law School” is an important measure taken by our school to fully cooperate with Soochow. To establish cooperation with Soochow and implement the national “Belt and Road" strategy, our university will actively provide relevant academic and scientific research to support for the development of Sino-Português Institute of Law and in the hope to establish a platform facilitate exchanges in regional legal studies and Sino-Portuguese legal culture among Portuguese-speaking countries thus promote cooperation in hands. |
