CityU connecting with universities in Latin America

The III International Conference of U.Experience and the IV International Seminar on Cooperación Universitaria of CRECES were jointly held in late September. This was the first time for the two events to be held together and it aimed to offer opportunities for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) around the world to discuss international cooperation, share good practices and foster international connections between participating HEIs.

City University of Macau (CityU) was invited to present at the Conference. Ms. Daryl Yang, Director of Global Affairs, represented the University and gave a talk in which she highlighted the University’s development so far, its plan for the future, and areas of collaboration in which the University is particularly interested. ”We are excited to have the opportunity to connect with universities in Latin American countries. International activities at CityU have been put on hold due to the pandemic, and we hope by connecting with HEIs in new regions will enrich our partnership portfolio and signal our readiness to resume international activities.” Ms. Yang marked after Conference.

U.Experience is a consultancy organisation in Brazil specialised in the internationalisation of higher education institutions. Its mission is to encourage and expand actions to support institutional strategies in the context of international cooperation.

CRECES, Regional Center for Cooperation in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, is an initiative created jointly between UNESCO-IESALC (International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean) and ASCUN (Colombian Association of Universities), which aims to establish, through university cooperation, a common space for debate, exchange and dialogue that generate interdisciplinary knowledge, supporting the overcoming of social problems expressed in the SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis on education, particularly higher education.
