The concert repertoire covered a diverse range of musical styles and genres, spanning different time periods and cultures between Chinese and Western music that have been popular for millennia, and featuring a variety of musical instruments. The performances showcased a wide range of musical styles, from the meticulousness of classical music to the free-flowing music of the Romantic period, and from the poetic and lyrical European instrumental music to the lively Chinese folk songs. Through solo, duet, and ensemble, the concert exhibited a unique blend of styles and achieved a delicate balance and harmony under the theme of “Bloomy Spring”.
The Musicology doctoral students at City University of Macau achieved remarkable academic results. Under the guidance of Distinguished Professor Dai Dingcheng and other mentors, they published articles on Macao’s urban music culture in local newspapers and had papers accepted by professional journals. As the first Musicology doctoral cohort in Macao, they explored the development path for building the city’s urban music culture and acted as ambassadors for its music culture. The faculty organized various learning and practical activities, including visits to local music societies and schools, and seminars with cultural ambassadors and industry professionals.
