CityU hosts Sixth Healthcare and Wellness Seminar to discuss trauma-informed care, communication, and bonding

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the City University of Macau (CityU) held the sixth seminar of the Healthcare and Wellness Seminar Series yesterday. The last seminar of the series invited Dr Zhang Donghang, Assistant Professor of Department of Innovative Social Work of CityU, to share information about trauma-informed care, communication, and bonding with live and online audiences. The seminar attracted over a hundred CityU members and representatives from local associations to take part.

The Healthcare and Wellness Seminar Series was successfully concluded with the aims to serve the Macao community and promote caring for seniors and children. The six lectures helped teachers, students, and the general public understand the common concerns in society, such as child development, elderly care, and mental health.

The seminar series offered practical solutions and information to address health issues, namely, “Secrets behind Effective Language Development among Children”, “Child Language Disabilities”, “Autism Spectrum”, “Dysphagia among Senior Citizens”, “Anxiety under COVID-19 Pandemic”, and “Trauma-Informed Care, Communication, and Bonding”. The seminar series also raised gratitude and service spirit among CityUers to the community. In the future, CityU will continue to develop more academic activities in the field of health, optimise its programmes to promote healthy development in Macao and the Greater Bay Area and align with the national and global standards.
