In order to expand regional connections with universities and institutions, Mr. Chan Meng Kam, Chairman of the University Council, and Rector Jun Liu led a delegation of management of the City University of Macau (CityU Macau) to visit universities in Shenzhen yesterday (4). The trip aimed to strengthen exchanges and explore cooperation among higher education institutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The institutions included: Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT) and Shenzhen University of Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (in preparation), and Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU).

Mr. Fan Jianping, President of SIAT, warmly received the CityU Macau management and gave an overview of the Institute. CityU Macau and SIAT conducted intensive discussions in promoting joint projects, namely talent training, industry incubation, and students’ internships. They agreed to exert strengths to cultivate professionals, support student entrepreneurship project incubation, and advance scientific projects. The management group also visited the research laboratories in the SIAT.
Visit to Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU)
Mr. Zhang Jihong, Secretary of the Party Committee of SZTU, welcomed the delegation and gave an overview of the development of SZTU. Rector Jun Liu pointed out that CityU Macau and SZTU share the same goal of nurturing top-notch talents. He hoped to conduct practical and in-depth cooperation with SZTU to develop programs for students and teaching staff, scientific research, and joint research laboratories.
During the trip, Rector Liu and Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei took an opportunity to visit Shenzhen University and the Shenzhen campus of Harbin Institute of Technology.
