The second working meeting of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Music Education and Arts Development Alliance recently took place at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou.

At invitation, the Macau Urban Music Research Center of the Faculty of Innovation and Design, City University of Macau has been appointed as a council member of the alliance. Professor Dai Dingcheng, the center’s director, represented CityU at the meeting and received a certificate from the organizing committee. This recognition underscores CityU’s contributions to music culture and education, enabling deeper engagement in the collaborative development of the Greater Bay Area’s music and arts sector.

Led by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education and Xinghai Conservatory of Music, the alliance focuses on regional cooperation, innovative integration, and technological empowerment to promote high-quality development in music education and the arts. It comprises 25 member institutions, including universities, performance venues, and artistic groups, creating a vital platform for cross-border collaboration. Since its establishment, the Macau Urban Music Research Center has leveraged Macao’s unique blend of Eastern and Western influences, enhancing its impact in music education both nationally and internationally. This new role in the alliance fosters a broader interdisciplinary exchange platform for CityU.
