CityU advises all students and staff to practise vigilant anti-epidemic measures during Spring Festival Holidays! Let’s stay healthy together!

Spring Festival is around the corner.

We wish all students and staff a prosperous Year of Tiger!

The COVID-19 situation in various parts of the country has changed at the start of 2022. Neighboring areas of the city have recorded confirmed cases recently.

The University is urging every CityUer to take vigilant anti-epidemic measures during the Spring Festival holidays to reduce the risks of coronavirus transmission, and pay close attention to the anti-epidemic guidelines and arrangements implemented by the MSAR Government. Here are some reminders to all students and staff:

  • Avoid crowd gathering and reduce mobility
  • All students and staff who have left the city should stay tuned with the COVID-19 prevention measures implemented by the local health authorities and MSAR Government and conduct strict medical observation upon arrival in Macao (if required).
  • All students and staffs who are eligible to receive vaccination should get the inoculations as soon as possible.
  • Ensure self-health management and seek medical assistance promptly if feeling unwell.

According to the “Guidelines on COVID-19 Vaccination and Nucleic Acid Testing for Staff” released by the DSEDJ, starting from 21 February, all faculty members, college students, school teachers and staff must present proof of completing 2 doses of the primary series of COVID-19 vaccine 14 days ago, when entering the campus. Those who were not fully vaccinated 14 days ago (receiving 2 doses of mRNA vaccines or Inactivated vaccines in the primary series) need to take nucleic acid test every 7 days.

In addition, teaching staff and college students who hold a "Physician Evaluation Certificate of Unsuitability for Novel Coronavirus Vaccination" issued by the Health Bureau can make an appointment for a free nucleic acid testing service through the link to the health authority website.

Besides, the Student Affairs Office has sent out a e-form to collect students’ vaccination status and place of residence. Please fill in your information before 28 January (Friday).

We wish you all a joyful and safe Spring Festival!
