The completion ceremony was graced by Tam Sio Wa, head of the Division of Tertiary Educational Cooperation and Exchange of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ); Ng On Lou, head of the Division of Studies and Information Analysis of Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau; Tian Han, executive vice president of Gaming Operations & Strategic Marketing at MGM; Wong Sok Kuan, director of Responsible Gaming at MGM; and Pak Kin Pong, director of the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre. Participating CityU members included Pro-Rector Robert Chan Chon Pat; Jacky Li Xi, executive associate dean of Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM); Sun Pei, executive associate dean of Faculty of Health and Wellness (FHW). The guests presented ambassador certificates to student trainees who completed the training, recognizing their outstanding performance.

Pro-Rector Robert Chan Chon Pat congratulated the students. He emphasized that strengthening the understanding of healthy financial management and responsible gaming was not only the improvement of personal abilities but also key to building a harmonious society. He encouraged the ambassadors to actively promote responsible gaming in their daily lives, use their influence to impact those around them, and contribute to society.

Executive Vice President Tian Han mentioned that “strengthening moral education and advocating healthy living” was one of the main measures of the “Macao Youth Policy (2021-2030),” noting that a nation could prosper only when its young people thrived. Executive Vice President Tian highlighted MGM’s initiatives with higher education institutions, including the long-term memorandum of cooperation with CityU signed this year and a series of activities for young people and mainland university students. He hoped that the ambassadors could apply what they had learned in practices, promote their knowledge beyond Macao, and share it with their relatives and friends.

FITM students Xie Beijia and Yu Hengzheng delivered speeches on behalf of the ambassadors. They stated that this program allowed them to gain valuable knowledge and practical experience while promoting responsible gaming to tourists in Coloane and Rua do Cunha. They shared their growth from being nervous at the beginning to being able to explain comfortably, demonstrating the improvement of their communication skills and their understanding of the value of promoting responsible gaming. This experience inspired them to better fulfill their social responsibilities in the future.

The “Responsible Gaming Campus Promotional Ambassador” program consisted of thematic lectures and promotional practices. In the lecture section, Wong Sok Kuan, director of Responsible Gaming at MGM, and Pak Kin Pong, director of the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre, were the lecturers, explaining the function and positioning of the tourism and leisure industry on social development, the development history of gaming and the important role of responsible gaming in the sustainable development of Macao and related policies. They also analyzed the misunderstandings of gaming and the causes and effects of gaming disorder, introducing the operation of the relevant institutions for gaming disorder prevention and control.

After completing the thematic lectures, the student trainees organized campus roadshows as promotional ambassadors and participated in MGM’s responsible gaming promotions. Through on-site interactions with young people, citizens and tourists at local tourist attractions, they applied what they learned into practice, thereby enhancing their sense of social responsibility and improving personal communication, organizational and teamwork.
