CityU organizes diverse festive activities to welcome a merry Christmas!

To celebrate the upcoming Christmas season and share the joy of the holidays with students, faculty, and staff, City University of Macau (CityU) organized a series of activities, including Christmas dinners, Christmas tree decoration workshops, and Christmas scented stone workshops. These activities provided a platform for students to immerse in the Christmas atmosphere and also expressed gratitude to all faculty and staff for their hard work throughout the year. On this festive occasion, CityU wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a peaceful and happy holiday season!

Festive activities bring sparkling joys and blessings

In the current academic year, CityU recruited nearly 80 researchers and faculty members globally. To enhance team cohesion and unity, the university provided Christmas dinner allowances to each faculty and department. This allowed colleagues within and across departments to come together, share delicious food, and enjoy each other’s company during the year-end festivities, fostering stronger bonds.

As the newly recruited researchers and faculty members come from various parts of the world, the university also selected dedicated gifts to them. These gifts aimed to bring warmth and joy to their first Christmas at the university and create unforgettable memories. Many faculty and staff members expressed surprise and heartfelt gratitude for the thoughtful gifts, which added joys to their holiday season.

In addition, the Human Resources Offices recently organized a Christmas tree decoration workshop for faculty and staff. Participants had the opportunity to handcraft unique miniature Christmas trees. The workshop provided various decoration materials and guidance, allowing everyone to unleash their creativity and DIY Christmas tree artworks, adding more color to the holiday season. Faculty and staff members who participated in the activity expressed their delight in the university organizing this workshop, as it allowed them to have their own customized Christmas trees. They planned to share this joy with their families and friends.

Given the recent cold weather, the university also prepared hand warmers for all faculty and staff members, especially those who need to go outdoors or work in outdoor environments.

Christmas scented stone workshop fills the air with Christmas vibe

The Student Affairs Office recently organized a Christmas scented stone workshop at the Student Tribe. The event invited Ms. Leung, a skilled artisan from S&E Handmade, to guide students in learning about the history of aromatherapy and the basic techniques of making and painting scented stones. Under the instruction, participants learned about the materials used and the step-by-step process of creating scented stones, including mixing plaster, molding, decorating, and attaching strings. They also had the opportunity to explore the history and methods of blending aromas, selecting and creating their own favorite scents. The Christmas-themed woody fragrance, the calming scent of lavender for relaxation, and various other aromas filled the air, spreading the joyful atmosphere of the festive season.
