2023 British Ecology Design Award
PhD student Li Guanghui participated in the competition under the guidance of Prof. Song Wu and Assistant Prof. Xing Yalong. His award-winning work, “Shanhaijing,” used the eco-lacquer technique to combine traditional culture and aesthetics, providing new value and approach to promote art culture. Through unique image and design, the work aimed to become a carrier of cultural communication and promote cultural exchange. His other work, “Ready to Set Sail,” was inspired by the practice of releasing fish fry back into the ocean, depicting the scene of fishermen preparing to set sail after the fishing moratorium, promoting the idea of letting the ocean rest and allowing marine ecology to recover.
The British Ecology Design Award is a global design competition aimed at promoting innovative and sustainable design concepts and practices, encouraging artists and designers to use their knowledge and innovative thinking to contribute to the ecological protection and the sustainable development. It is a platform for designers to showcase their talent, unleash innovative spirit, and social responsibility, promoting ecological civilization development and sustainable development.
