The winners of the 6th Hong Kong Contemporary Design Awards 2024, themed “Future．Unlimited,” have been announced. Jin Dian, Ma Jiawei, Chiang Guo Judy, Xuan Ziqing, and Chen Liangyu, students studying the bachelor’s program in design at the Faculty of Innovation and Design of City University of Macau, under the guidance of Assistant Professor An Shun, won the Bronze Award in the non-proposition product design category for their work “Lotus: A Series of Office Product Designs.” Assistant Professor An Shun was awarded the title of Outstanding Supervising Teacher.
The award-winning design was inspired by the Ode to the Lotus from Zhou Dunyi. The design aimed to present the purity, selflessness, and elegance of the lotus. The series includes a lotus leaf cup, a lotus stem pen, a lotus root pen holder, a lotus pod cable organizer, and a lotus flower lamp, blending the unique beauty of the lotus with contemporary fashion elements.
