City University of Macau has been committed to improving the internationalization level of education and creating more international exchanges and learning opportunities for teachers and students of our university. With regard to cooperation between institutions, our university has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Cooperation Framework Agreements with dozens of overseas universities. In the 2017/2018 academic year, we have established cooperation relationship with Goldsmiths, University of London, University of Plymouth, University of Edinburgh, University of Évora, Vietnam National University, Chulalongkorn University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Western Sydney University, which has laid a solid foundation for collaboration in advancing academic research, cultural exchanges and other international affairs. In terms of student exchange, the university has prepared and offered eight overseas exchange programs for our students in the summer of 2018. Nearly 60 students will go to the University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, Royal Roads University, Vancouver Island University, University of New Mexico and University of Minho in Portugal and attend a one-month language and cultural program. Among them, a total of 19 students from International Business Cohort (Elite Class) from Faculty of Business will go to the University of British Columbia and National University of Singapore to study the subject improvement courses; about 20 students from Faculty of Innovation and Design will go to University of Plymouth in the UK to study Design Art and other major-related courses. At the same time, 20 students from School of Business of the University of Alberta and 24 graduate students from the University of Plymouth will visit our university this August and October to conduct academic exchanges and sharing with our students. In addition, 21 students from Faculty of International Tourism and Management have been successfully selected by the United States Disney Internship Program this year compared with 13 for last year program. These 21 students will go to the United States for a six-month internship and academic exchange as well in Florida State University. In July 2017, our university successfully joined the ERASMUS+ Staff and Student International Credit Mobility Program held by University of Minho, and our university and University of Macau are the only two partners for this project in Macao S.A.R. Successful applicants are granted by European Union for exchanges in University of Minho. In April 2018, our university was pleased to learn that the two CityU students had successfully entered the primary list and was expected to visit University of Minho in the 2018/2019 academic year. At present, our university is actively expanding cooperation opportunities with more overseas universities. In early 2018, CityU delegation visited Hanoi, Vietnam to participate in the BMI Global Education Fair, and visited Vietnam National University and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, with the aim of gradually exploring more cooperation opportunities in Southeast Asia. Looking forward, CityU will continue to promote the internationalization of the university education and strive to achieve the world-class university standards in more areas and to cultivate more international talents for the social development of Macao region.
