Research.com is an internationally renowned academic platform that provides reliable data on scientific contributions since 2014. Formerly known as Guide2Research, it was restructured as Research.com in February 2022. It publishes annual rankings of top universities and scientists. The selection criteria for the top scientist list are based on the scientist’s D-index (Discipline H-index), which reflects their scientific achievements and contributions within a specific field. To date, the platform has published these rankings for ten consecutive years.
In the field of computer science, Research.com has created the global top scientist and global best university rankings through a detailed analysis of a total of 166,880 scientists and their affiliated universities from multiple bibliometric data.

CityU has been offering undergraduate, master’s, PhD and doctoral programs in computer science since 2019. In 2020, the Faculty of Data Science (FDS) was established based on the Research Center in Data Science. FDS aligns with international technological frontiers, focuses on innovative development, and leverages its disciplinary advantages. It attracts renowned scholars and educators from the global computer science field, building a high-level professional faculty team. Responding to the needs of Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, FDS actively promotes the development of the intelligent industry and cultivates leading talents in data science and computer science. Currently, it offers six programs in areas such as data science, computer science, and intelligent technology and services.
In recent years, CityU’s development has been driven by interdisciplinary programs underpinned by data science. The university has integrated big data and artificial intelligence into its ten faculties and the curriculum structure in fields such as humanities and social sciences, health, business, finance, tourism, education, design, art, urban planning, law, and Portuguese-speaking countries studies. This progress has enabled the university to offer application-oriented degree programs at all levels in areas such as financial technology, smart education, digital humanities, smart tourism, smart health, and intelligent interaction design.
