Congratulations! CityU Dragon Boat Team wins the third prize in 2026 Macao University Student Small Dragon Boat Race

The SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races 2026 commenced at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre. City University of Macau (CityU) Dragon Boat Team took part in the Macao University Student 200-meter Small Dragon Boat Race (Open Category). They won the third prize after intense battles, demonstrating CityU students’ sportsmanship and teamwork.

。

This Small Dragon Boat Race gathered strong teams from local universities including the University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic University and Macau University of Science and Technology. CityU selected 14 well-prepared team members with high morale. In the preliminary round, they stayed calm and ranked second in the group with a time of 52.605 seconds, advancing to the final. During the final, all teammates cooperated tacitly and sprinted for the finish line. They won the third prize in the 200m open category with an excellent record of 52.598 seconds, bringing honors to CityU.

In addition, in the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race (500m) for the Open, CityU Dragon Boat Team faced strong competitors such as Sands China and Tong Li Construction. The team spared no effort and finished the third race in 2 minutes 15.703 seconds. While failing to advance into the final, team members demonstrated tenacity throughout the long-distance race and gained precious practical experience for future competitions.

This remarkable achievement is the results of CityU Dragon Boat Team long-term dedication to practice. The team will participate in the 2026 Fuzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament and “Belt and Road” International Youth Dragon Boat Invitational Competition. We look forward to seeing CityU’s dragon boat athletes continue to embody the competitive spirit of striving for excellence and rising to challenges. May they conquer the waves on even greater stages, achieve new milestones, and continue to showcase the youthful vigor and sense of responsibility of CityU students.
