Expanding Cooperation | CityU Enters into a Memorandum of Cooperation with the ABMES

On October 23, President Celso Niskier of the Brazilian Association of Institutions of Higher Education (ABMES) led a delegation of 17 Brazilian colleges, universities and educational institutions to visit CityU. The delegation had in-depth exchanges with Rector Shu Guang Zhang and Pro-Rector Ip Kuai Peng concerning university management and scientific research and academic construction and signed the Memorandum of Cooperation.

In recent years, China and Brazil have strengthened cultural exchanges and consolidated the foundation of educational cooperation. The establishment of this cooperative relationship marked the beginning of the in-depth interaction between the two sides. CityU has always maintained close contact with Portuguese-speaking countries in talent cultivation and established cooperative relations with many colleges and universities. The Master and Ph.D. Program in Portuguese-speaking Countries Studies offered by CityU is the only one of its kind in Macao and a worldwide leader as well.

In response to the globalization of education, CityU will make continuous efforts with the ABMES to promote the development of global faculty, students and scientific research. The two sides will, based on the exchanges in international tourism management and Portuguese-speaking countries studies, gradually strengthen cooperation in such areas as teacher-student interaction, academic exchanges, short-term courses, and joint degrees.
