"Chinese Outstanding Film Festival – Film Artists Going to Campus" was held in Ho Yin Convention Centre on 25 October. Along with the promotion of the "14th Chinese Outstanding Film Festival", over 20 artists were invited to CityU to communicate and interact with students. "Film Artists Going to Campus" is an essential portion of the “Chinese Outstanding Film Festival” for constructing a bridge between the film artists and teachers and students in Macau. Guests of the event include Vice President of China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television Zhang Pi Min, Standing Vice President and Secretary-General of China Film Foundation Yan Xiao Ming, representative of State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television Xu Xiao Chao, Standing Vice President of Macao Media Advancement Association Zheng Guo Qiang, special guest Zhang Tie Lin, Rector Shu Guang Zhang, Associate Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Science Wang Zhong and a number of directors and actors. The event began with announcing the list of students who won the Chinese Outstanding Film Festival Movie Review Essay Contest of the Golden Lotus Award and was followed by the speeches of Vice President Zhang and Rector Zhang. Vice President Zhang acclaimed the accomplishment of CityU students in the movie review essay contest and expressed his anticipation for the performance of our students for next year. On the other hand, Rector Zhang encouraged our students to partake in artistic creations to enhance their artistic quality and allow art to walk into their lives to enrich learning experience. During the event, our students interacted with the film artists and the atmosphere of the event reached its climax. The students asked a number of questions and exchanged professional knowledge and personal opinions about the art of film with the guests. Meanwhile, the guests shared their experience and thoughts on performance and film making which allow the students to get a better understanding of the art of film. Hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television and Ministry of Culture and Education of LOCPG and organised by China Film Foundation and Macao Media Advancement Association, the Chinese Outstanding Film Festival was first started in 2004. It allows students to experience the art and culture of films in Mainland China and spread the traditions of Chinese films. It is hoped that students can participate in relevant activities apart from their own area of specialisation to showcase their own characteristics and fill their dreams with vitality.
