The three students answered the questions and discussed in-depth academic issues. After internal discussion of the committee, Prof. Leong announced that the three students successfully defended their theses. The room erupted into wild cheers and applause. Prof. Leong also encouraged postgraduate students auditing the Oral Defense to make further efforts, value their time, and complete their thesis with guaranteed exemplary quality.

The doctorate oral defense also had significant meaning to the FITM City U, as not only were they the first local doctoral students but also the first doctoral students trained in English. Committee members who came from famous universities and academic institutions highly remarked on the theses of the FITM Ph.D students and noted the practical and theoretical values of the topics, the preciseness of their research ideas, and the innovative analysis methods they adopted.
