The First Macao Experiential Learning Seminar, jointly organized by the Faculty of Health and Wellness (FHW) of the City University of Macau (CityU) and the Macau Association for Experiential Education, was recently held at the Cultural Centre, Taipa Campus. The seminar received support from five social services organizations in Macao, namely Caritas Macau, Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, The Women’s General Association of Macau, and Bosco Youth Service Net.

As a celebration of the first anniversary of FHW, this seminar attracted over 200 representatives from the social services, education, and academic sectors in the four core cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Attendees explored innovative applications and developments in experiential and theme-based learning. Cheng Chun Wah, internship supervisor of FHW, pointed out that the concept of whole-person health encompasses physical, emotional, and social dimensions, emphasizing the need to break down disciplinary barriers. He added that the faculty would cultivate a new generation of professionals capable of addressing complex societal needs through integrated curricula in healthcare, psychology, neuroscience, and social work.
