A first-year master’s student from the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) of City University of Macau (CityU Macau) took part in the International Conference on Tourism Management and Hospitality via virtual portal. Student Yu Yue, with her research paper titled Determinants of the development of intangible cultural heritage: the case of Cantonese opera, received an outstanding paper award.
The International Conference on Tourism Management and Hospitality, known as ICTMH, concluded in Barcelona, Spain. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ICTMH was conducted via an online seminar. It allowed Yu to engage in lively discussions with experts worldwide, namely those from Japan, Spain, Poland, and Malaysia.
Under the guidance of FITM Assistant Professors Kou Iok Teng and Luo Jian Ming, Student Yu won the honour. As her first participation in an international academic conference, Yu said the conference was meaningful to her study journey and has learned much during the process. Meanwhile, Yu said she is happy to be one of the FITM students as the faculty continues striving for a broader platform for students to engage in international exchanges. Yu also expressed gratitude to her supervisors for their support and guidance.
