On 17th January, 2014, a signing ceremony was held to commemorate the Joint Program Agreement between the Faculty of Business, City University of Macau; Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS) and International Association of Registered Financial Consultants Hong Kong and Macau Centre Company Limited. The Agreement Signing Ceremony was held in the Auditorium of the Monetary Authority of Macau. The ceremony began with a speech of welcome by Dr Antonio Pontes, Chairman of Executive Board of IFS; Professor Su-Seng Pang, Acting Rector and Dean of Faculty of Business, City University of Macau; and Mr Samuel Yung, SBS, MH, JP, Chairman of IARFC (HK and Macau) and the Agreement was signed by them thereafter.
The scope of this agreement was to promote financial education in Macau through highly qualified courses offering the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) professional designation. The Joint RFC Program consisted of Professional Diploma and Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting which were to be conducted in the second quarter of 2014. The objective was to develop competencies in the field of financial training and education. The courses of the Program were aimed to offer to professionals in the field of finance, banking, accounting, law, insurance and other relevant financial industries. The purpose was to cultivate successful and high-calibre financial planning practitioners contributing to the development of the financial sector conducive to the sustainable economic development of Macau.
