President from José Rizal University from the Philippines Vicente Fabella and Delegation Visited CityU and Signed a Memorandum of Understanding

On 24 April, President of José Rizal University from the Philippines Vicente Fabella and Vice President Augusto Fabella visited CityU and were warmly received by Rector Shu Guang Zhang, Vice Rector Kong Fanqing, Registrar Sean Li and Executive Associate Dean of FOB Eva Khong. They conducted a meeting discussing the direction of future cooperation and signed a MOU. During the meeting, Rector Zhang welcomed the guests sincerely and introduced the higher education system in Macau as well as the development of CityU. President Fabella acclaimed the stance and characteristics of our university and has invited the leaders of CityU to visit José Rizal University. Moreover, he expressed his anticipation of communicating and collaborating with CityU extensively. Both parties signed a MOU for the collaboration of projects, including the exchange between students and faculties, establishment of curriculum and scientific research, as well as the gradual construction of a cooperation system. The two universities agreed to nurture talents in the fields of International Tourism and Management, Social Science and Nursing. Students from José Rizal University are encouraged to enrol in the International Business Cohort of FOB and participate in the internship programmes in renowned hotels of Macau. At the same time, they also planned to examine the sustainability of coastal cities and join hands to establish a ‘smart city’ research. Founded in 1919, José Rizal University is a non-profit private university with a long history and have cultivated many exceptional graduates for over half a century. With a pleasant learning environment and quality teaching facilities, the university offers programmes including Education, Computer Studies and Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Psychology and Nursing.
