President U U Sang of FDCT Administrative Committee leads delegation to visit CityU

Yesterday, President of Administrative Committee of The Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT), U U Sang, led a delegation to visit City University of Macau (CityU). Rector Liu Jun and Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei expressed warm welcome and both sides held in-depth discussions on the future direction of cooperation.

Rector Liu Jun extended warm welcome to President U and his delegation, and presented an overview of the overall development of CityU, the development of scientific research, and the direction of talent cultivation.

Vice President Zhou Wanlei outlined City’'s recent five-year push toward interdisciplinary growth in service of national and regional needs, and shared progress in team development and high-tier joint research.

President U U Sang, spoke highly of the breakthrough developments that CityU has achieved in the field of scientific research in recent year. He stated that CityU’s research rise rapidly and has become an essential and crucial part of the technological innovation force among higher education institutions in Macao.

FDCT Administrative Committee member Cheang Kun Wai encouraged CityU’s scholars to apply for the research subsidization. Member Ip Kuai Lam encouraged CityU to expand its international research collaborations, continue to actively host high-level international academic conferences, and attract the editorial boards of prestigious journals to establish a presence in Macao, thereby assisting Macao in building itself into a hub for international scientific research collaboration.

The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding potential areas for future cooperation, expressing their hope to further expand collaboration at multiple levels and promote more substantive exchanges and meaningful interactions, thereby making greater contributions to the nation and Macao.

Other FDCT members attended the meeting included Chu Iek Man, senior manager of the Project Funding Department;  Chan Kong On, senior manager of the Science and Technology Development and Cooperation Department; Tang Teng Fai, senior technician of the Project Funding Department; Lam Cheng Seng, senior technician of the Science and Technology Development and Cooperation Department. Zhu Tianqing, dean of the Faculty of Data Science (FDS); FDS Professor Gu Jia; Dai Yi, assistant professor from the School of Education, and Sheng Jian, head of the Research Management Office also took part in the meeting.
